Dualie Trade Show Display for Macworld

Every year, Macworld Magazine hosts a tradeshow focusing on all things Apple®. Outlook for the show was grim in 2010 as it was the first time that Apple itself would not be the major exhibitor that it had been in years past, and the blogosphere prognosticators speculated that the event would be a bust for vendors and attendees alike. Undeterred by bleak attendance forecasts, our client Buffalo Technology was eager to showcase a new product geared toward Mac enthusiasts at the show. Redroc was there to lend a hand.

The Client

With offices in Japan, USA, Germany, UK, Ireland and Taiwan, Buffalo Inc. is a leading worldwide provider of innovative network solutions for the home and business - from wireless networking and storage to memory and multimedia devices. Redroc handles creative and design, including print and digital advertisements, packaging, trade show displays and more for Buffalo operations in the U.S.

Dualie was a first-to-market dual external hard drive and iDevice charger developed by Buffalo to cater to the needs of those with multiple devices looking to cut down on the amount of desk space clutter while providing them with a convenient and robust external hard drive. Buffalo needed to generate buzz for the new product and land interviews with the press and tech bloggers in order to maximize their exposure.

Buffalo asked us to shape their entire presence at Macworld 2010 and give them a concept and theme around which they could center all their messaging as well as provide designs for their booth, banner stands, sales pieces and ads in national magazines.

Real Ideas

Our creative department went rogue and broke from the traditional Buffalo graphic standards and designed a booth and coordinating graphics that paid homage to the instantly recognizable NYC Subway wayfinding signage.

Real Results

This bold and simple approach cut through all the tech clutter and helped communicate our messages of speed and portability. Buffalo met with over 50 registered members of the press in just four days earning them coverage in national publications such as PC World/Mac World, Computer World, Mac+ and MacLife. Members of the Buffalo team could also be seen and heard on tech related podcasts and Vlogs. Redroc was proud to help Buffalo get their message out well beyond the walls of the trade show.

"Thanks to a fantastic effort by the marketing team and Redroc we had some top-notch booth art that really pulled in the crowds." - Jay Pechek, Public Relations Manager, Buffalo Technology
